Success in Pattern design competition

The winners of the pattern design competition for young designers organized by Young Finnish Design, Paapii and Finsket have been selected! The aim of the competition is to highlight new Finnish designers and offer them opportunities to advance their careers in collaboration with domestic brands Paapii and Finsket. A total of 145 entries were submitted, from which six finalists were selected to continue. Among the six finalists, textile designer Emma Myllynen was selected as the winner in the Paapii category, and Teija Vartiainen in the Finsket category. In addition, the jury awarded textile designer Olga Juslin with an honorable mention in the FINSKET category.

Welcome to the Demoday event 11.5.2023 – the 2023 program is published!

Demoday 2023 is an event for the Design, Conservation, Film and Television, Live Performance Engineering and Clothing degree programs of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, which will be held at the Arabia Campus on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

At the event, students present their projects, such as animations, games and short films, graphic and digital design, as well as a wide variety of design, conservation, and event technology projects.

On the day of the event, a Demo Exhibition presenting the students´ work will open in the Exhibition Hall. Demoday main stage will host presentations and talks from 12.00 to 16.00. The day will end with mingling in the Exhibition Hall and the Event Hall.

Welcome to the virtual Ready21 thesis exhibition @metropolia_muotoilu on your Instagram account. We present students ’theses twice a week: on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The first thesis will be published on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. The first part of the exhibition presents the work of students who graduated in May.

The exhibition will continue during Helsinki Design Week from 9 to 19,2021, when theses to be completed in June and autumn will be presented.
