The design and production of a workplace orientation solution by utilizing video and a learning management system
My thesis includes a design and a production of a digital solution for work place orientation at Indagatus Oy. As primary tools, I utilized both video and a learning management system. For the clients, Indagatus offers workforce for various assisting tasks or to gather customer feedback. Indagatus also functions as a consulting company that utilises customer feedback to create new customer service concepts.
The thesis introduces the ideas of user centred design, online teaching, and effective learning methods as well as how to implement these elements in the orientation solution. Some of the company management team and a number of people who have worked in some of the company projects, participated in the design and implementation phases. I interviewed some of the workers to identify the possible areas of development in the orientation process and I organised a workshop with the company management team to determine the content of the digital orientation.
Online orientation contains a series of videos which include all relevant information about the work tasks. Producing the video content is a part of my thesis, in which I will attempt to have the content of the orientation in a compact, consistent and a clear form. The orientation material was scripted, on the basis of which it was also filmed.
The orientation material is placed in a learning management system, which enables it being structured in a way relevant to the orientation. The utilised learning management system has been picked from among several options on the basis of how well it provides for the needs of Indagatus and how well it fits into their budget. I will depict how I have made use of the system to create an orientation solution fitted to the Indagtus brand.
